Terms of Service

These are the terms you're agreeing to when you use Centli. We've tried to write them in normal English instead of lawyer-speak. The short version: your data is yours, we don't sell it, and the app is a journal — not a bank.
1. The agreement
By installing or using Centli ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, that's fine — just don't use the app. We'll update these terms from time to time; we'll let you know in-app when we do, and the date above changes.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple. You're responsible for keeping that account secure. One person per account.
3. Your data is yours
Everything you type into Centli — transactions, ledger names, notes, photos — belongs to you. We store it on your device and, if you turn on sync, in our secure cloud so it's available across your devices. We don't sell it, and we don't use it to train AI models. When you use the AI assistant, your messages and the financial context needed to answer them are processed by our AI provider to generate a reply — see the Privacy Policy for the details.
4. What we provide
Centli is a personal-finance journal. It is not a bank, not a broker, and not a financial advisor. Numbers shown in the app are based on what you enter; we don't verify them against the real world, and the AI assistant can make mistakes. Don't use Centli as the source of truth for taxes — use your actual statements.
5. Centli Pro
Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks advanced reports, an ad-free experience, and unlimited devices. Billing happens through your device's app store. You can cancel anytime from your store's subscription settings; you'll keep Pro features until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled under the policies of the store you bought through.
6. Fair use
Don't do anything illegal with the app, don't try to break our servers, and don't resell access. If you find a security issue, email 88kbdev@gmail.com — we'll thank you.
7. Things outside our control
Centli is provided "as is". We work hard, but we can't promise the app is bug-free or always available. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim related to the app is capped at what you've paid us in the last twelve months (which, for free-tier users, is $0).
8. Ending things
You can stop using Centli at any time — uninstall the app and, if you want, hit "Erase all data" in Backup & sync first. We can suspend an account that's violating these terms, but we'll tell you why first.
9. The fine print
These terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia, Canada. If you and Centli ever disagree and can't work it out, the courts of Halifax, Nova Scotia have exclusive jurisdiction. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
